Efficiency of nebulization

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013056

The fraction of the liquid sample introduced into a nebulizer that is converted into an aerosol of sufficiently fine droplets to be transported to the atomization or excitation source in atomic spectrometry. It is a measure of how effectively the nebulizer generates a usable aerosol from the bulk liquid. This efficiency is typically less than 10% for pneumatic nebulizers.
