Evaporation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004132
The process by which a liquid changes into a gas or vapor, typically occurring at the surface of the liquid below its boiling point. This phase transition requires energy, known as the latent heat of vaporization, which is absorbed from the surroundings. Evaporation is a key component of the water cycle.
