Critical moisture content

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002692

The moisture level in a solid material, such as a pharmaceutical powder, below which the rate of drying begins to decrease. At this point, the removal of water is no longer limited by the rate of evaporation from the surface but by the rate of moisture migration from the interior of the solid. This value is specific to the material and drying conditions.
