Clearance
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002111
A quantitative measure of the rate at which a substance is removed from the body or a specific body compartment, expressed as a volume of fluid cleared per unit of time. It reflects the efficiency of organs like the kidneys or liver in eliminating a compound from the plasma. Renal clearance is typically measured in milliliters per minute.
