Mist
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007414
A dispersion of fine liquid droplets suspended in a gas, forming a type of aerosol. Mist droplets are generated either by the condensation of a supersaturated vapor onto nuclei or by the atomization of a bulk liquid through mechanical processes like spraying. While similar to fog, the term mist is sometimes reserved for aerosols that reduce visibility to a lesser extent, specifically to between one and two kilometers.
