Demister
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002981
A device designed to remove liquid droplets or mist that are entrained in a gas or vapor stream. It functions by causing the fine droplets to coalesce into larger drops that become heavy enough to separate from the gas flow due to gravity. Demisters are often constructed as a mesh pad, vane pack, or cyclone separator and are installed in equipment like scrubbers and distillation columns.
