Membrane separator

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007164

A device that uses a semi-permeable membrane to selectively separate components from a mixture, often based on differences in molecular size, shape, or chemical affinity. In mass spectrometry, it can enrich an analyte from a gas stream before introduction into the mass spectrometer. This separation technique is frequently employed in gas chromatography-mass spectrometry interfaces.
