Inertial separator
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005821
A device that removes particulate matter from a gas stream by exploiting the inertia of the particles. The gas flow is forced to change direction abruptly, while the heavier particles, due to their momentum, continue in their original path and are separated. Cyclones are a common type of inertial separator, widely used in industrial applications for dust collection.
