Isokinetic sampling
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006194
A method of collecting particulate matter from a moving gas stream, such as a stack or duct, where the velocity of the gas entering the sampling probe is equal to the velocity of the gas in the main stream. This technique minimizes errors in particle concentration measurements due to inertial effects. Maintaining isokinetic conditions prevents larger particles from being excluded or concentrated in the sample.
