Impinger
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005728
A device used for collecting airborne particulate matter or gaseous contaminants by drawing the air sample through a liquid medium. The gas stream is directed at high velocity onto a surface submerged in the liquid, causing particles to be trapped. This method is effective for sampling aerosols and soluble gases, with collection efficiency depending on flow rate and nozzle design.
