Cryogenic sampling
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002742
A method of collecting atmospheric or other gas samples by cooling them to extremely low temperatures, causing the target analytes to condense or freeze out of the gas phase. This technique is effective for concentrating trace gases and preserving their composition for later analysis. Liquid nitrogen or liquid helium are commonly used as refrigerants.
