Relating to or involving very low temperatures, typically below -150 degrees Celsius (-238 degrees Fahrenheit). This field of study deals with the production and effects of these extreme cold conditions. Cryogenic techniques are used for liquefying gases, preserving biological samples, and in certain scientific experiments.
