Standard conditions for gases
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011285
Reference values of temperature and pressure used to state gas volumes, set by IUPAC at 273.15 K (0 degrees Celsius) and 100 kPa. Older texts and many instruments still take 1 atm (101.325 kPa) as the pressure, and a flow meter calibrated in standard volumes may refer to 25 degrees Celsius instead of 0. An ideal gas occupies 22.711 litres per mole at the IUPAC values and 22.414 litres at 1 atm.
