Standard concentration

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011284

A reference concentration used to define the standard state for solutes in solution, typically 1 mol/L (or 1 M). This value is employed in thermodynamic calculations to establish a consistent baseline for comparing the properties of different solutions. It is a hypothetical concentration used for defining standard chemical potentials and activities.
