Standard molality

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011297

A reference molality used to define the standard state for solutes in solution, typically 1 mol/kg. This value is employed in thermodynamic calculations to establish a consistent baseline for comparing the properties of different solutions, particularly when temperature changes are involved. It is a hypothetical molality used for defining standard chemical potentials and activities.
