Molality

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013299

A measure of the concentration of a solute in a solution, defined as the amount of solute (in moles) per unit mass of the solvent (in kilograms). Unlike molarity, molality is independent of temperature and pressure changes, as it is based on mass rather than volume. Its SI unit is moles per kilogram (mol/kg).
