Molality

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007381

A measure of the concentration of a solute in a solution, defined as the number of moles of solute per kilogram of solvent. Unlike molarity, molality is independent of temperature and pressure changes because it is based on mass rather than volume. It is expressed in units of moles per kilogram (mol/kg).
