Mole fraction of water vapor
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007386
The ratio of the number of moles of water vapor to the total number of moles of all gases in a given volume of air. This dimensionless quantity is a measure of atmospheric humidity, often denoted as x_v. It is directly related to the partial pressure of water vapor and the total atmospheric pressure.
