Specific energy

The total energy per unit mass of a fluid parcel, encompassing its internal energy, kinetic energy, and potential energy. This concept is applied in atmospheric dynamics to analyze the energy budget of air masses and their transformations. It is expressed in units of joules per kilogram (J/kg).
