Energetics method

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005369

A diagnostic approach in atmospheric science that analyzes the budget and transformations of different forms of energy to understand atmospheric processes. This method quantifies the sources, sinks, and conversions of kinetic, potential, and internal energy within a defined atmospheric volume. It is frequently applied to study the life cycles of cyclones, fronts, and other weather systems.
