Bulk method

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004072

A simplified approach to parameterizing turbulent fluxes of heat, moisture, and momentum between the atmosphere and a surface, such as the ocean or land. This method uses mean atmospheric variables measured at a single height above the surface, along with surface properties, to estimate the fluxes. It relies on empirical coefficients to relate the mean gradients to the turbulent transport.
