Mass-transfer method
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007135
A technique used to estimate the rate of exchange of a substance, such as water vapor or heat, between a surface and the overlying atmosphere. It relies on empirical relationships that link the transfer rate to measurable atmospheric variables like wind speed, temperature, and humidity gradients. This method is applied in micrometeorology and hydrology to quantify evaporation and sensible heat flux.
