Transfer velocity
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009751
A conceptual velocity used in mass transfer processes to quantify the rate at which a substance moves across an interface, such as between the atmosphere and an ocean surface. It relates the flux of a substance to the concentration difference across the interface. This parameter is often used in models of gas exchange, like carbon dioxide uptake by the ocean.
