Flux
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-001026
The rate of transfer of a physical quantity per unit area per unit time across a given surface. It represents the flow of energy, mass, momentum, or other properties through a defined boundary. In meteorology, examples include radiative flux, latent heat flux, and sensible heat flux, which are measured in units like watts per square meter (W/m²).
The rate of transfer of fluids, particles or energy per unit area across a given surface (amount of flow per unit of time).
