Fluvial morphology

The study of the form and structure of river channels and floodplains, and how these features evolve over time due to the action of flowing water and sediment transport. It examines characteristics such as channel patterns (meandering, braided), cross-sectional shape, and bedforms. This field is closely related to fluvial dynamics.
