Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009426
A long-period oscillation of the sea surface and associated currents within the surf zone, typically with periods ranging from 30 seconds to several minutes. This phenomenon arises from the interaction of incident wave groups with the shoreline, generating standing waves or edge waves.
