Low-flow channel

The portion of a river or stream channel that is continuously occupied by water during periods of minimal discharge. This channel is shaped by the regular flow of water and is distinct from the wider floodplain that is inundated only during higher flow events. Its morphology and sediment characteristics reflect the prevailing hydrological conditions during dry seasons.
