Heat transfer coefficient

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006201

A quantitative measure of the rate at which heat is transferred across a boundary per unit area per unit temperature difference. In atmospheric science, this coefficient is used to characterize the efficiency of heat exchange between the Earth's surface and the atmosphere, or between different atmospheric layers. It is expressed in units of watts per square meter per Kelvin (W/(m²·K)).
