Mass scattering coefficient
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007133
A measure of how effectively a unit mass of a substance scatters electromagnetic radiation, such as light. This coefficient quantifies the scattering efficiency of atmospheric aerosols or cloud particles per unit mass concentration. It is expressed in units of area per unit mass, such as square meters per gram.
