Volume scattering coefficient
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010053
A measure of the fraction of radiant energy scattered out of a beam per unit path length in a medium. It quantifies the attenuation of light due to scattering by particles within a given volume. This coefficient is wavelength-dependent and is expressed in units of inverse length, such as per meter.
