Coefficient of diffusion
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004477
A proportionality constant that relates the flux of a substance due to diffusion to the concentration gradient of that substance. In the atmosphere, it describes the rate at which gases or aerosols spread from regions of higher concentration to lower concentration. This coefficient is typically measured in units of square meters per second.
