Diffusivity
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005016
A measure of the rate at which a substance or property spreads through a medium by diffusion. In atmospheric science, this can refer to molecular diffusivity for gases or eddy diffusivity for turbulent mixing. It quantifies the effectiveness of transport processes driven by concentration gradients and is typically expressed in units of square meters per second.
