Eddy flux
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005273
The net transport of a scalar quantity, such as heat, moisture, or momentum, by turbulent eddies within a fluid. It represents the average rate at which these quantities are carried across a given surface due to turbulent motions. Eddy fluxes are typically measured using the eddy covariance technique and are expressed in units like watts per square meter for heat or grams per square meter per second for water vapor.
