Eddy diffusivity

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005272

A measure of the rate at which turbulent eddies transport momentum, heat, or constituents within a fluid. It quantifies the mixing efficiency of turbulence, analogous to molecular diffusivity but on a much larger scale. This parameter is often used in atmospheric models to represent sub-grid scale turbulent mixing processes.
