Eddy conductivity
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005267
A measure of the turbulent transfer of heat within a fluid, analogous to molecular thermal conductivity but on a much larger scale. It quantifies the efficiency with which eddies mix and transport thermal energy through the atmosphere or ocean. This parameter is often parameterized in numerical models to represent sub-grid scale heat transport.
