Mixing
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007334
The process by which distinct parcels of air with different properties, such as temperature, moisture, or momentum, are combined and homogenized. This occurs through atmospheric motions ranging from small-scale turbulence to large-scale eddies and convection. The mixing ratio, a measure of water vapor content, is conserved during adiabatic mixing processes that do not involve condensation or evaporation.
