Coefficient of mutual diffusion
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004479
A parameter that quantifies the rate at which two different substances intermix due to random molecular motion, driven by a concentration gradient. In the atmosphere, this coefficient describes the diffusion of one gas through another, such as water vapor through dry air. It is typically measured in square meters per second.
