Coefficient of correlation

A statistical measure that quantifies the strength and direction of a linear relationship between two variables. In meteorology, it is used to assess the agreement between observed and forecast values, or the relationship between different atmospheric parameters. The value ranges from -1 to +1, where +1 indicates a perfect positive linear relationship.
