Anomaly correlation
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003535
A statistical measure used to assess the skill of numerical weather prediction models by comparing the spatial patterns of predicted anomalies with observed anomalies. It quantifies the similarity in the geographical distribution of deviations from the climatological mean. A value of 1 indicates perfect correlation, while 0 indicates no linear relationship.
