Pressure anomaly

The deviation of observed atmospheric pressure from its long-term average or climatological mean for a specific location and time of year. Positive anomalies indicate higher-than-average pressure, while negative anomalies indicate lower-than-average pressure. These anomalies are used to identify and track large-scale atmospheric circulation patterns and their influence on weather.
