Partial correlation
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010655
A statistical measure that quantifies the linear relationship between two variables while accounting for the influence of one or more other variables. This technique isolates the direct association between the primary variables by removing the confounding effects of additional factors. For instance, it can determine the correlation between temperature and rainfall after controlling for atmospheric pressure.
