Eulerian correlation
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005478
A statistical measure of the correlation between atmospheric variables, such as wind velocity or temperature, at different points in space or at different times, observed from a fixed spatial reference frame. This type of correlation is used to characterize the spatial and temporal scales of atmospheric turbulence and coherent structures. It is distinct from Lagrangian correlation, which tracks fluid parcels.
