Rate coefficient
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008409
A proportionality constant that quantifies the speed of a chemical reaction in the atmosphere. It relates the rate of reaction to the concentrations of the reacting species. These coefficients are highly dependent on temperature and pressure, and are often determined through laboratory experiments or theoretical calculations.
