Second-order reaction

A chemical reaction in which the rate is proportional to the product of the concentrations of two reactants, or to the square of the concentration of a single reactant. In atmospheric chemistry, these reactions are common in the formation and destruction of trace gases. An example is the reaction between two hydroxyl radicals.
