Reaction order
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008429
The exponent to which the concentration of a reactant is raised in the rate law for a chemical reaction, indicating how the reaction rate depends on that reactant's concentration. The overall reaction order is the sum of the orders with respect to each reactant. For example, a first-order reaction's rate is directly proportional to the concentration of one reactant.
