Reaction kinetics
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010720
The study of the rates of chemical reactions that occur in the atmosphere and the factors that influence them, such as temperature, pressure, and the presence of catalysts. It provides the quantitative information needed to model the formation and destruction of atmospheric constituents like ozone, aerosols, and pollutants. Reaction rates are expressed in units of concentration per unit time, for example, molecules per cubic centimeter per second.
