Flash photolysis systems
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005614
Laboratory setups designed to study the kinetics and mechanisms of fast chemical reactions by initiating them with a brief, intense pulse of light. This light pulse dissociates precursor molecules, generating highly reactive transient species. Subsequent spectroscopic techniques monitor the decay or formation of these species over very short timescales, often down to nanoseconds.
