Gas-phase kinetics

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005879

The study of the rates and mechanisms of chemical reactions occurring between molecules in the gaseous state. In atmospheric chemistry, this field investigates how trace gases react with each other and with radicals, influencing air quality, ozone depletion, and the formation of aerosols. Reaction rates are often temperature and pressure dependent.
