Gas-particle distribution factor
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005878
A ratio giving the share of an airborne species found in the particle phase out of its combined gas and particle total, for example sulfate divided by the sum of sulfate and sulfur dioxide. A value near 0 means the species is mostly gas and a value near 1 means it is mostly particulate. Studies of sulfur compounds use it as an index of how far gas-to-particle conversion has progressed in an air mass.
