Entrainment coefficient

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005390

A dimensionless parameter that quantifies the rate at which ambient fluid is incorporated into a turbulent plume or jet. It relates the rate of mass entrainment to the characteristic velocity and size of the turbulent flow. This coefficient is often determined empirically or through numerical simulations.
